Introduction:
This has been on the back burner for about half a year, but seeing as waiting for older threads to wrap-up could result in it being a full year, or more, before this gets up off of the ground, I’m going to go for broke and kick start it here and now! For those unfamiliar with Distortion Realms, refer to the following:
Distortion Realms [from a plot perspective]
Distortion Realms [an OOC explanation on how they work]
Once you've familiarized yourself with how they work, feel free to sign up! Note that, as always, if a player lags behind with their posting they may be eligible to have their turns skipped. Repeated tardiness can result in the character being booted right out of the plot. We are willing to wait for a reasonable amount of time if a player has a valid excuse for taking a while between posts (work, school, ill, family troubles, etc.). However, muse death and laziness are not valid excuses. If this bit seems familiar, it’s because it accompanies all of these Distortion Realm plot discussions. Zzzzimple!
Distorted Outbreak Unlimited:
Our tale is set on Seraph Island; or, more specifically, Spire City. Life was unspectacular and normal in the bustling metropolitan area, until the first signs of the infected began to rear their heads. Five weeks later, those who survived the zombie epidemic find themselves in a daily struggle for survival. How will the survivors cope with the catastrophe? Inhibitions will be cast aside, and human nature put the test as those who remain try to survive in a dead city.
Additional Information:
- While the subject matter of this thread will be intense, gory, and dramatic, bear in mind that all material presented must be in accordance with ProBoards’ Terms of Service.
- This version of Spire City is upon a normal world, like our own. Anyone and everyone involved will be ordinary people, with no powers, magic, or any other abilities they may normally have. Only humanoids exist, though non-human characters are permitted if they are humanized (primarily human characters with other features are alright, what I mean is no straight-up animals, monsters, etc.). Also, like with Stardust High, this world is self-contained; there is no knowledge of the Multiverse, and everyone is from the same world. Again, think realism.
- As a supplement to the above, just so there’s no confusion, the canon history of involved characters will not match the true canon. Everyone is from the same world and time period. Those involved with the Stardust High Distortion plot will be familiar with this concept.
- The zombies in this thread are traditional, slow-moving, staggering zombies. None of those sprinting modern zombies we see in a lot of modern entertainment. Contamination results from being bitten, and the bitten victim will turn after several hours. Those who die will turn whether they have been bitten or not, though will turn faster than the gradual zombification of a bitten, living victim. Non-humanoid animals are neither targeted by zombies nor can become zombies. The brain must be destroyed to stop an undead.
- Sign-ups are not required, and anyone may enter so long as the rules are understood.
The Passing:
Multiverse Unlimited’s sister site, the Disney-themed Fantasmic Dreams, also has a non-canon, zombie apocalypse thread currently underway: Kingdom of the Dead. At some point during Distorted Outbreak Unlimited there will be some form of brief crossover event. This event will be a sort of Easter Egg, with no lasting impression on either this thread or that one. It will just be a fun little nod, where the two groups will meet, have a brief exchange, then go about their business.
This info will help those who are not members of Fantasmic Dreams to understand this situation when it arises, and also aid to inform those who are members of this coming event. In order to be a part of the crossover you must control the same character on MU as you do over on FD.
