• Multiverse Unlimited 'Main' Plot •
“I shall uncover what lies beyond the Gate, even at the cost of my humanity! Nothing shall stand in my way!” ~ Professor Dormus Dullahan
Introduction:
As I’ve done in the past, I am now making this thread to serve as a summary on the events of the Aethernet plot. Subtitled as the MU 'Main' Plot. Since this plot is pretty involved, and spans a multitude of threads, this should be useful for those who want to know what’s going on without reading through hundreds of posts across numerous threads. The threads themselves will also be listed, in chronological order, and be hot-linked for further details. If two threads occur simultaneously, they will be listed alongside one another. This information will be updated as developments occur.

Plot Summary:
Having successfully completed the Aethernet, thanks to the support and funding of Emperor Zinj, ruler of the Kingdom of Zinj, Professor Dormus Dullahan has all of his aids exterminated (save a single survivor: Miles Zephyr) and aims to use the Aethernet to free a dark god, Pox, from confinement. However, Dullahan underestimates the power of the seal placed on Pox, and he not only fails to release him from captivity, but the Aethernet is heavily damaged, and malfunctions, in the process. Portals linking to and from countless worlds, across a plethora of galaxies, begin to open via the haywire Aethernet, linking worlds which previously had no knowledge of one another. The phenomenon known as Multiverse Unlimited is hence born.
Six months pass, and Dullahan aims to repair the damage done to his complex Aethernet. Though his time is stretched thin, as Emperor Zinj commands him to use the newly-opened portals to capture warriors from across time and space to fight (against their will) in tournament matches for his amusement. To aid him in repairing the Aethernet, Dullahan enlists the help of three established scientific minds, deceiving all of them and giving each a portion of the Aethernet to repair. The three individuals are: Donatello, Kurtis, and Professor Marble. One of Donatello’s three brothers, Raphael, grows suspicious of Dullahan and investigates him. In retaliation, Dullahan captures him and imprisons him to fight in the colosseum. Also suspicious of Dullahan, Kurtis tracks down Donatello, and the two plan to investigate Dullahan and his Aethernet.
Meanwhile, through a twist of fate, Audacity and Bermuda join forces. While fleeing from authorities, the two wind up in the rift; a plane between planes. There they meet Eternity, and Audacity is gravely injured by him. Eternity also gives cryptic clues to the duo. With some effort, the two manage to escape the rift. After meeting with Denestro, more cryptic clues are given. The two begin a journey to search for Miles Zephyr, and unravel the mysteries of MU, the Aethernet, and the 9th Circle.
After traveling for a while as a pair, Bermuda and Audacity narrow down the possible location of Miles Zephyr to one of two places. They decide to split up. During this time, Bermuda’s captain, Kazuaki, is abducted by Dullahan to fight in the colosseum. Bermuda hesitates in leaving port, and their ship is laid to waste by French authorities, with most of the crew killed and Bermuda being captured. On her execution day, Bermuda escapes by transporting herself back to the rift, where she meets back up with Audacity. The two continue their search, with Denestro assuring Bermuda that by locating Miles Zephyr, she would locate Kazuaki Hidataka.
In Zinj, Kazuaki, Raphael, and Clara Regith are three prisoners forced to fight in arena matches. Emperor Zinj’s son, Prince Torreus, having become fed-up with his father’s wrongdoings, disguises himself as a cloaked, hooded figure known as 'Reideem' and infiltrates the holding cells. He frees Kazuaki, Raphael, and Clara, and the four of them proceed to free the other prisoners. They plan to storm the palace and lay-waste to the Aethernet to prevent others from being captured, imprisoned, and forced to fight.
From his confines, Pox watches as events unfold. Sensing that his goal of escape is being threatened by those investigating the Aethernet, or by those outright planning to destroy it, he wipes the memories of all Aethernet-related events, Dullahan, and anything else that connects to said things, from Audacity, Bermuda, Clara, Kazuaki, Raphael, Torreus, Donatello, Kurtis, Professor Marble, and even Miles Zephyr’s minds. They are all then transported to different locations throughout the Multiverse, far from any reminders of what they had been doing.

Enraged at the escape of all of his prisoners, and at the fact that his son, Torreus, had gone missing, Emperor Zinj demands that Dullahan locate his son. Dullahan complies, but has no luck in locating the missing prince. Dullahan also learns that Miles Zephyr is still alive, which greatly troubles him. Six months pass, with no results. With the Emperor’s patience growing ever thinner, Dullahan grows more desperate.
Torreus, having been in a state of dimensional limbo for six months, finally materializes back into the physical realm, spawning in the coast of France. He manages to swim to land, where Leonard carries his unconscious form from the shore. Torreus suffers from complete amnesia, not even recalling his own name. Leon has been separated from his friend, Zorro. The two decide to try and seek answers. They then learn of the existence of MU, which bewilders the both of them. Meeting up with Hans, Captain of the Fast Ship, Dynasty, and his crew they receive more information about the Multiverse and the use of portals. A sorcerer in Hans’ crew, Spire, deduces that Leon is in a transformed state, though admits that he lacks the skill to reverse the curse. Spire makes mention of a legendary wizard, Merlin, who has great power over transmogrification spells. With no leads on Zorro or Torreus’ lost memories, the duo decide to accompany Hans and his crew to Medieval England to seek-out Merlin.
Bermuda finds herself in a medieval version of England, where she returns to her old tricks of plundering. Angering a dragon, she flees the scene, with loot in hand, and meets up with Leon’s missing friend, Zorro. The two escape together.
Having six months of his memories missing, Kazuaki discovers that his ship and crew had been lost. Meandering about France, he meets up with Hans, Bermuda’s old flame. Though the two hardly see eye-to-eye, Hans fills Kazuaki in on what he knows, and assures him that Bermuda is still alive somewhere. Kazuaki visits the docks where his ship had been destroyed, only to be confronted by Dullahan. Satisfied that Kazuaki had no memories of him, Dullahan proceeds to lie to Kazuaki, informing him that Miles Zephyr is responsible for his state of affairs. He contracts him to aid him in finding the missing Prince of Zinj in exchange for a new ship. Shortly thereafter, Emperor Zinj sends his right-hand man, Leoire Regith, to seek out Prince Torreus, due to Dullahan’s prolonged failure to locate him.
Audacity had awoken in Spire City, with only the memories directly pertaining to his meeting with Bermuda, and their subsequent quest to locate Miles Zephyr, having been erased. He lingers in Spire City, unsure of whether he should leave or if he had originally gone there with some purpose in mind. Kazuaki also arrives in Spire City, still trying to locate Miles Zephyr for revenge. The former captain has no luck in finding leads on him, however. Audacity and Kazuaki happen to find wanted posters of Bermuda and Audacity. Audacity decides to leave Spire City in search of her, hoping she knows what he had been doing during the missing period from his memories. Kazuaki also shifts his focus from locating Zephyr to locating Bermuda. Having squeezed a lead out of a bounty hunter who had pursued Kazuaki, both the Adonis Fighter and the Pirate King head to Medieval England. Both men locate the castle Bermuda had sieged, only to find her long gone. Instead encountering the dragon guardian of the ruins, the reptilian sentry was dispatched before both Audacity and Kazuaki made their way back to town for more clues as to the elusive Bermuda’s whereabouts.
Arriving back in the medieval town, Kazuaki and Audacity happen upon Bermuda and Zorro at a local pub. Kazuaki becomes too intoxicated to make much use of the reunion, though Audacity is quick to confront Bermuda and demand information regarding his missing memories. She informs him that she, too, had lost memories of that time, and a drunken Kazuaki chimes in that he lost memories, as well. Disappointed and confused, Audacity leaves the bar to clear his head. Moments later, Leon, Hans, Spire, and Torreus enter the pub to try and gather information on the whereabouts of Merlin. Hans and Bermuda spot each other, and their reunion ends poorly with Hans immediately leaving and Bermuda in tears. Leon and Zorro also notice one another, and are both overjoyed to have found their lost friend. However, when Leon speaks the situation in the pub takes a turn for the worse as the nervous patrons grow hostile. Bermuda threatens the men at the bar before she escorts Kazuaki out. Spire then recommends that Torreus escort Leon and Zorro back to the ship while he attempts to defuse the situation. Bermuda and Kazuaki, Torreus, Leon, and Zorro, and Audacity all head off in separate directions to pursue their own goals.
Before departing from Medieval England, Kazuaki and Bermuda overhear a couple of other outsiders discussing intriguing matters, and the name Montello comes up. Bermuda recalls that a man named Montello used to serve under Kazuaki, and thus the two of them follow the two men to their base camp. There the two pirates meet Montello, though he shows no indication that he personally knows either of them, much less served alongside them. Montello and the two pirates have differing information and memories regarding one another, and Montello brings up his home world, Palisades. He is under the impression that they, too, hail from said home world. His words also reveal that he is familiar with Mímir, who is someone relevant to the past of both pirates, and possibly to Montello, as well. Being an arms dealer, who sells weapons to the armies of underdeveloped worlds for a high profit, Montello strikes a deal with Kazuaki and Bermuda, and the two part ways. Suspicions remain high, however, and Montello puts a tail on the duo.
With no rational method of locating Torreus directly, Leoire decides to attempt to follow a chain of association. He decides that his best bet is to try and locate Kazuaki, as the rogue pirate had been one of the attackers at the Zinj Palace whom had vanished mysteriously, much like the prince had. Following a trail of bread crumbs, Leoire tracks down Mondo, one of the bounty hunters who were defeated by Kazuaki and Audacity days earlier. The reptilian headhunter is all too happy to assist Leoire for the sake of revenge, and steers him toward Medieval England, while also giving him the clue that Kazuaki had been inquiring about Miles Zephyr during his brief stay in Spire City.
Audacity makes his way to a Netherworld, Evil Academy, in pursuit of a facility known as the Heart Bank. From rumors he had gathered, one could enter their own heart and mind there, and even view their own subconscious and memories. Though hesitant to the idea, Audacity sees it as a last resort to try and locate his lost memories, and enters. After conversing with some residents of his heart, he is led to a bridge leading to where his lost memories lie. Upon trying to enter, he is prevented by an unseen force, who causes him to lose consciousness.

FAQ:
Q: What do you mean by 'Main' plot?
A: The overarching premise of MU is the creation of the Aethernet, which is what allows so many worlds (and franchises) to inter-mingle. As per the canon of this RP forum, without the Aethernet, there would be no MU. Hence, anything relating to Dullahan and the Aethernet, or the pursuit of uncovering them/the origin of MU, is considered part of the 'main' plot of this RP forum. That’s not to say that this plot is any more or less important than other threads; it merely means that they have to do with the aspects which formed Multiverse Unlimited.
Q: How can I become involved in the Aethernet plot?
A: Threads which are associated with the 'Main' plot are generally closed. Sometimes they are open, but newcomers to the plot may become little more than supporting characters without proper communication. This is because correspondence between role-players and myself is the leading factor as to what direction the plot heads. Communication is key, as we all openly discuss possible plot ideas and character interactions. Rarely do these elements merely 'happen by chance' (though there is, of course, a degree of spontaneous circumstances, given the nature of RPing) hence why a newcomer thrown into the midst likely won’t have any staying power, because they will become involved in something which is constantly being planned-out in advance. If you desire a prominent role in this plot, contacting me is the best way to go. Note, however, that progression is strongly endorsed with these threads. If you become inactive, or lag behind, then the 'Main' plot will continue without you.
